I often hear people say it’s been years since they last took family photos - and that it just doesn’t fit in the budget right now. I get it. Life is busy, and photos can feel like a luxury.

Years ago, I photographed a sweet couple’s wedding reception. Not long after, I got the call for maternity pictures. Then newborns. Then yearly family sessions. Over time, I got to help them capture so many beautiful milestones.

The last session we did was simple and playful - just their son and his dog, Mr. Butters. No fancy outfits or big production. Just a little boy being himself, playing with his best furry friend. A few weeks later, they had to say goodbye to Mr. Butters.
