Ashley Canfield

welcome

There is a time for a posed, arranged moment but my favorite part of any photography session is catching the real moments when you were not expecting me to shoot.

The magic is so often found in the IN-BETWEEN.

Typically my favorite shots are the ones that organically unfold. My goal is to artfully capture moments for you that are both planned as well as the unexpected.

SPECIALIZING IN SENIOR PORTRAITS

think OUTSIDE OF THE BOX…

for your location.

It should be meaningful to YOU

What to wear…

be YOUrself

I don't have many rules. This is about you. Your outfit should be a reflection of that. You should feel comfortable. Bring several options to the shoot even if you don't wear them all.
Consider your style: Are you casual, athletic, formal, dressy, preppy? Bits of all?

Portraits can already feel a bit awkward there is no reason to add stress by trying to be someone you're not.

  • Put your own style together like a basketball jersey under a suit with sneakers

  • Bring your future college banners/shirts/caps - High school cap/gown/letterman jacket/sports

  • Dress up or dress down - OR BOTH

  • Wear a power suit to reflect your goal in the corporate world/politics/law

PERSONALIZE YOUR SHOOT

Bring things that speak of who YOU are.

Hobbies, sports, crafts, how you spend your time. Some examples might be: ballet slippers, letterman jacket, trophies/metals, jersey/uniform, car, flag, books, camera, pets, stuffed animals, a blanket, ETC

COLLEGE ATTENDING: pendant, shirt, jacket, poster etc
HIGH SCHOOL ALMA MATER: shirts, hats, team related items, athletic items, cap/gown etc

Below are just a few examples of how my incredible clients have chosen to customize their shoot:

the sweetest moments are not always planned.

STYLE + HOW  I  WORK

I am a natural light, on location photographer.

THAT MEANS I will not be in a studio making you look like all of my other clients. My goal is to capture every individual just as they are.
I will meet you at your favorite fast food joint, school, sports field, car lot, arcade, coffee shop, ranch, parking garage, downtown square, beach, the side of a mountain, lake ETC

{ALL places listed ^ I have used for my AMAZING CLIENTS}

About you +

the IN BETWEEN

Photography sessions should be about YOU and YOURS -

My goal is not to create the perfect shot but rather capture the perfect moment as it organically unfolds.

Sessions require a bit of posing and direction but I prefer my people to be playful, fun, THEMSELVES - as I capture who you really are - with my camera.

Most often my favorite images are the ones that were not expected but just happened.

what I see + what YOU see

It is not the end…it is just the beginning.

Stay in touch. I would love to get you on my calendar.
